Messari: The Decentralized Science Ecosystem: Building a Better Research Economy

Messari just published a piece on decentralized science. Messari is a leading provider of crypto market intelligence products, and gave an awesome summary here of the current decentralized science landscape.

DeSci is disrupting the traditional scientific research lifecycle by combining the foundational principles of open science with novel coordination mechanisms and incentivization schemes. The DeSci ecosystem has a wide variety of projects that address some or all parts of the research economy.

With some great insights into the potential of DeSci and a comprehensive look at the leading projects in the space, this is definitely worth the read, especially if you’re just getting up to speed on DeSci!

Though it is behind a paywall (shoutout to the open access movement), you can get a free trial for a week and take a read.

Gitcoin Presents - Gitcoin x Metalabel

In the past 2 weeks, Gitcoin launched an NFT alongside Metalabel. This open edition was the first in Metalabel's Quality Drops series, and celebrates public goods, open source projects, and the whole Gitcoin ecosystem.

These NFT’s got a lot of attention on Twitter as Vitalik, an avid supporter of Gitcoin and funding public goods, had his name linked to the project. Regardless of floor price or anything else, this was a great drop in support of public goods and the work that Gitcoin has done.

Search 1×1: At the Forefront of DeSci and Archaeology

What is Search 1×1? Thats a great question. Shrouded in mystery, they seem to be at the intersection of DeSci and Archaeology.

On their Premint, the only explanation given is:

Our bold community of NFT archaeological explorers will virtually join real archaeologists on scientific expeditions and digs called ARX. Every ARX has the potential to change the world and rewrite the future.

With a partnership in place with Garmin and the Garmin inReach, Search 1×1 is definitely a project to keep your eye on.
